Negro River - Peacock Bass
Fishing for big Peacock Bass in the heart of the majestic Amazon rain
forest -
6 days full fishing days.
LOCATION & DESCRIPTION

Negro River -
We will navigate this enormous River aboard our Hotel boat visiting
numerous lakes, lagoons, and creeks, home for large numbers of this brave
tropical game fish, admired as number one target for the visiting sport
fisherman. From May thru October, considered high water season, when large
parts of the forest get flooded, the fish will be hunting and hiding in
surrounding vegetation making it hard to catch him. As from November the
water will go down, forcing the fish out of the vegetation, offering
proper conditions for the angler.

Untouched nature also offers breathtaking scenery only found in tropical
rain forest environment, entertaining the angler while making a dreams
trip come true.
Our adventure starts in Manaus/Amazonas, where daily flights to the
fishing location are available.

As for recommending equipment;
although the possibility of catching a 20 lbs up Peacock Bass is real,
you’ll be more likely catching fish up to 16 lbs., we recommend the use of
17 to 25 lbs. casting rods with up to 50 lbs. multifilament lines for
Peacock fishing, when fly fishing is preferred, your equipment should be
at least # 8. For big catfish however, really heavy salt water type
equipment is required.
These recommendations are based on experience, space and playing
conditions, not to be taken as a rule. |
